Vest with Ehmer Sling

Superior alternative to manual bandaging at hip luxations. Eliminates chafing (common in manual bandaging). Improves the comfort and recovery of the patient. Easy to apply. Fits both hind legs. Machine-washable and re-useable for more than one patient. Facilitates rahabilitation / therapy during recovery.

Indications

  • Open or closed reducion of craniodorsal coxofemoral (hip luxations)
  • Post-operative treatment of acetabular, femoral head- and neck and some femur fractures
  • Prevention of contractures after internal fixation of femoral fractures
  • Supracondylar or distal physeal fractures in young dogs
  • Encouraging weight bearing in the contralateral limb during rehabilitation / therapy
  • Preventing weight-bearing hind limb

Size

Stocked in nine sizes: XXXS, XXS, XS, S, S/M, M, M/L, L and XL. Contact Scandi Orthopedic if other size is needed. Ehmer Sling can also be bought separately, without the vest.

Material

Vest and components are made of an easy breathable material with moisture repellant qualities. Fur does not stick to the material, the material is also impregnated with a natural fibre that reduces odour and hampers bacterial growth in the product.

Hind leg Hobble System

Rear leg Hobble system is an improved alternative to traditional Hobble bandage.
The Hobble system limits the abduction of the hind legs and is easy to apply. Machine-washable and reusable.

Indications

  • After open or closed reduction of ventral hip luxation
  • Post-operative treatment for some pelvic fractures
  • Post-operative treatment for some tenuous femoral fractures
  • Swimmer puppy syndrome
  • Controlled rehab / therapy for animals with neurological dysfunction and / or muscular weakness

Stocked in four sizes: XS, S, M, and L

Material

Hobble System is made of a material with closed cells with syntetic rubber material, laminated with nylon-jersey. They are light-weight but still very durable.

Stifle Hip, Grade 4

Custom made by cast.  The purpose of the stifle orthosis is to prevent excessive internal and external rotation of the knee and provide medial and lateral support. Controlled desirable range of motion. Prevent ligament injuries by providing support and stability to the knee joint.
NOTE! Not recommended for meniscal injuries.
